2009 Green Living & Design TOUR
Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 10am - 4pm
Self-guided tours of more than 25 sites in Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke and Moore counties, and a guided tour of Fort Bragg's GREENEST buildings and sites. AND IT WAS ALL FREE!!
Tour Date: Saturday, November 7, 2009. We began the tour at the following headquarters locations, and we extend our appreciation to each of them.
Cumberland County Headquarters: Moore Exposure, 215 Williams Street, Fayetteville.
Harnett County Headquarters: The home of Frank and Marianne Stump, 4757 Ross Road, Lillington.
Hoke County Headquarters: Raft Swamp Farms, 4978 Red Springs Road, Red Springs, NC. Four miles south of Raeford on NC Hwy 211, near the intersection of Hwy 211 and Andrews Road.
Moore County Headquarters: Green Goods, 220 NW Broad Street, Southern Pines.
Fort Bragg Guided Tour Meeting Point: For the first time, Fort Bragg agreed to host a guided tour of their greenest building and sites. Folks met at the North Post PX where a 15-seat passenger van took them on a 45-50 minute tour
The diversity of tour sites and vendor exhibits on this year's tour was really amazing. Custom-built green homes, certified green businesses, solar installation companies, redeveloped historic buildings, an organic "incubator" farm, a methane collection system on a pair of swine lagoons, mainstream builder homes with Energy Star certifications, a strawbale home.... and the list goes on! Click here to see a copy of the program which shows the sites that were open in all four counties, along with information about our vendors who were interspersed at the sites.
The tour was FREE?!? We have our generous SPONSORS to thank for that!
