PINEHURST GREENWAY

The Pinehurst Parks and Recreation created a Greenway Committee in 2002. The committee assisted the Parks and Recreation Department in determining potential trail routes, preparing the greenway map, evaluating surface materials and other amenities such as signage, benches, etc.

The Pinehurst Parks and Recreation created a Greenway Committee in 2002. The committee assisted the Parks and Recreation Department in determining potential trail routes, preparing the greenway map, evaluating surface materials and other amenities such as signage, benches, etc. The committee consists of seven members: A member of the Village Council, Parks and Recreation Director, one member of the Planning and Zoning Board, and four residents of the community, one of whom works with the Pinehurst Resort.

There are now over 3.6 miles of trails completed in the first phase with an additional .75 miles currently in the design stage for the coming months. A portion of the Greenway Trail System also runs through Rassie Wicker Park from Hwy 211 to the future site of the Pinehurst Arboretum.

The greenway trails are utilized by residents in Pinehurst and from surrounding communities, as well as others who may be staying here on vacation. The trails have been designed for the walking, jogging or biking pleasure of people of all ages.  For more information on the Pinehurst Greenway, please refer to the web links below.
