Theresa Thompson
Theresa Thompson is currently serving as the Planning Department Director for Montgomery County. Her responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing various county ordinances, developing partnerships with key stakeholders in the community, and providing professional and viable information to various county boards, community leaders and citizens.
Her passion is to develop sustainable communities, thus leading her to Sustainable Sandhills. The Board thanks Montgomery County Manager, Lance Metzler, for agreeing to let her serve on our Board. Theresa lives in Mount Gilead with her husband, Bryan, the Town Manager of Mount Gilead. They are expecting their first child in May 2008.
James Rose
James Rose is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Public Works Commission (PWC) for the City of Fayetteville. Mr. Rose has been with PWC for 27 years, and has been involved with several community organizations, such as the Cumberland County United Way, a member of the Fayetteville State University MBA Advisory Committee, and the Chamber of Commerce. He brings a strong desire to implement sustainable practices in his everyday work and personal life. Mr. Rose is a strong proponent of the Sustainable Sandhills Green Business Program (GBP), and his organization has recently agreed to partner with SS as one of the pilots in the Program.
He and his wife, Susan, have two boys, Brian and Adam, and live in Fayetteville with their dog, Jackson, and cat, Champ. He enjoys golfing and yard work in his free time, and is a longtime resident of the Fayetteville area, arriving in 1957 as a military dependent.
