COMMUNITY ACTION TEAM Coordinator
Job Description
The Community Action Team (CAT) Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of Sustainable Sandhills' CAT's. These responsibilities include:
- Schedule, publicize, organize and facilitate monthly CAT meetings and Film screenings in five Sandhills counties: Moore, Lee, Scotland, Richmond and Montgomery counties.
- Cultivate new projects and partners for SS CAT's in each community.
- Recruit and support volunteers to ensure successful CAT project outcomes.
- Write annual reports for each active SS CAT.
The following metrics will be used to measure the success of the CAT Coordinator:
- Number of attendees to CAT meetings.
- Number of repeat attendees to CAT meetings.
- Number of active volunteers recruited and retained through the CAT's.
- Number of projects that are implemented by each CAT.
In addition to the CAT-specific duties listed above, the CAT Coordinator will also:
- Speak to civic and other community groups to promote Sustainable Sandhills' programs, membership and engagement in CAT's.
- Assist other SS staff to document CAT project successes in bi-weekly e-briefs.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient with typical office software - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Interest and knowledge in some/all of the following sustainable topic areas: solid waste reduction and recycling, water and energy conservation, air quality, renewable energy, green building, low impact development, sustainable land use, local food, sustainable agriculture, ecotourism.
- Affinity for people. The successful CAT Coordinator will be drawn to and energized by working with others towards positive change.

other Job information
The CAT Coordinator position will most likely be a full-time, salaried position. But the candidate pool may result in two part-time hourly positions being the best solution. Salary will be based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
Sustainable Sandhills' full-time employee benefits include 12 days of paid annual leave (combined vacation, sick and personal leave) and 10 paid holidays. We do not currently offer health insurance.
The Sustainable Sandhills offices are located in Fayetteville, NC. While there will be a significant amount of time spent out of the office working in the communities of the Sandhills region, the position will be based in our Fayetteville office.
