CSA CONSUMER DEMAND SURVEY
In order to gauge the interest and preferences of residents in participating in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) groups, Sustainable Sandhills has created a short online survey. LINK TO THE SURVEY. Please feel free to forward this link to your friends and neighbors who are interested in supporting local farmers producing local food!
More information about the objectives and contributors to the survey.
The results of the survey will be shared with both consumers and farmers. The results will also be mapped, so that consumers and farmers alike can gauge the viability of CSA's in our region. Local farmers need to hear from an informed and willing public that there is sufficient demand for their locally grown produce to justify their investments.
REGIONAL CULTURAL RESOURCE INVENTORY
The first phase of this Inventory project is funded by an NCDOT grant with a focus on Moore County, in the vicinity of a particularly challenging road improvement project - the highway 24/27 bypass near Carthage. The Moore County work was substantially completed in July of 2009, and the remainder of our Phase 1 work has been devoted to the research, collection and entry of cultural resource records in the other 10 counties in the Inventory project. Phase 1 will be completed in December of 2009. Read more>>

The Tour was held on April 11, 2009, in Cumberland and Moore Counties. Hundreds of people came out on Saturday to tour the farms and get tips from our farmers and from the workshops. If you participated in the Tour, please send us your comments and suggestions. If you would like to participate in our 2010 Tour--to be held on April 10--let our coordinator know by clicking here!. We also thank our sponsors for helping us make our first Tour a success! Read more>>
