Inform Customers of Green Services or Amenities

The list of Green Services or Amenities is endless, but here are a few examples:

  • Refillable coffee cups.
  • Cloth/reusable shopping bags.
  • Paper products such as toilet paper, napkins, coffee filters that are unbleached and/or made of recycled paper.
  • Biodegradable and/or compostable food and drink containers.
  • Free trade, organic and/or shade grown coffee.
  • Organic food and beverages.

 

Styrofoam Alternatives

These can be found by contacting your local supplier or requesting bio-based alternatives from local supply houses.  Additionally, you can contact numerous eco-friendly suppliers directly and have the items shipped to your door.

Harris Teeter carries numerous recycled content and biodegradable items as well as natural, bio-degradable cleaning products such as Mrs. Meyers, Seventh Generation and Clorox Greenworks.  Look for Harris Teeter Naturals 100% compostable cold cups, in 10 oz and 16 oz.

Nature Friendly Products - A supplier of biodegradable/compostable products, including tableware, cutlery, cups, straws and trash bags.  Can be ordered directly from Nature Friendly Products by calling Tammy Riddle at 216.464.5490 x 115.

Recycled content products - Paper products with at least 30% post-consumer recycled paper products can be found at many of the big box office supply stores such as Office Depot and Staples.  These include white office paper, envelopes, post-it notes, and even paper towels.  The majority of the large grocery chains carry paper towels and bathroom tissues that are unbleached or recycled.

For example: Staples has recycled white office paper (10%, 30%, 50% and 100% recycled content), colored paper (30%), post-it notes, yellow and white writing pads (50% and 100% recycled content), envelopes, portfolio folders, file folders, easel pads, resume paper, cash register/calculator rolls, and Marcal brand 100% recycled content paper towels and bathroom tissue.  They also carry Clorox Greenworks cleaning supplies and Seventh Generation dishwasher detergent.   Off
