                                             presents the

        2009 URBAN FARM TOUR

experience Local food & local flavor

On Saturday, April 11th, 2009, both Cumberland and Moore County Urban Farmers opened their gates to show just how easily Urban Farming can be woven into our everyday lives.  From small raised beds to full frontal gardening to fruit tree orchards, this experience proved to be helpful and enjoyable for all who attended!

This self-guided experience allowed participants to speak with each farmer personally, mingle with other interested citizens and take away great tips and local secrets for growing delicious crops in our diverse soils.  We can rightfully say that the First Annual Urban Farm Tour was as huge success.

Click here to learn more about Urban Farming, where and how it originated and and why it is so important to our society.

We want to hear comments from those of you who participated this year.  We would also like to hear some of your suggestions for next year's Tour--OR you may want to be considered as a stop on next year's Tour.  Let us know:  info@sustainablesandhills.org.
