Cultural resource Inventory

A comprehensive, public participation GIS project for an 11 county region!

a resource for planning and a foundation for a cultural Heritage tourism economy

REGIONAL CULTURAL RESOURCE INVENTORY

Phase 1 of this Inventory project is funded by an NCDOT grant with a focus on Moore County, in the vicinity of a particularly challenging road improvement project - the highway 24/27 bypass near Carthage.  The Moore County work was substantially completed in July of 2009, and the remainder of our Phase 1 work has been devoted to the research, collection and entry of cultural resource records in the other 10 counties in the Inventory project.  Phase 1 will be completed in December of 2009.  

Phase 2 will focus on increasing public participation in the Inventory project.
